| West Texas Rod RunPresentsHeart of the City FestivalThe 31st Annual West Texas Rod Run has come and gone. This year it was held it downtown Big Spring with the heart of the city festival. There were 30 vehicles entered ranging from a Mack truck to a VW bug. Most of the downtown stores had sales or specials just for the event. There were food, arts & crafts vendors from all over set up in the newly built downtown park. It stared to rain a little in the morning, but by noon it was gone and it got hot. With all the stores and vendors there wasn’t much interest in the games. The awards were given out at 5:00 and at 6 we had a Police escort to the Sonic on FM 700 were we had a small cruise night. The sheriff of Howard County Dale Walker gave out an award to the vehicle of his choice, which was an original Plymouth Barracuda from Midland.
